About Eversholt Swimming Pool
Eversholt Swimming Pool is a small outdoor swimming pool in the heart of Bedford. We are a charity, registered charity number 300029.
The swimming pool was created around 1920, when the Duke is alleged to have given the land in a desperate attempt to stop kids swimming in the Linden fishponds! It was famed as an informal watering hole which swimmers shared with frogs.
Since then the pool has gone through a few changes, the most recent being a new filtration and heating system. Next up we'll be refurbishing the changing rooms, if you have any suggestions on what you'd like to see, please do get in touch using the contact box below.
About the pool
The pool is an open air pool / lido. It is 21.3m by 7.3m with the shallow end 1m deep, gradually deepening to a maximum of 1.7m at the Eastern end. It has a small semi-circular paddling pool with a depth of 0.3m attached to the main pool, separated by bars.
The temperature varies but it's usually 27-28℃.
